DPC Crystalline Technology takes advantage of concrete’s nature to create an integral reaction that permanently waterproofs and protects the concrete by sealing its pores and capillaries with non-soluble crystalline formations.
Utilizing water as a catalyst, our DPC crystalline products react chemically with the by-products of cement hydration to form a needle-like, highly resistant crystalline structure that becomes part of the concrete. The resulting crystalline structure is remarkably resilient and provides comprehensive protection against water ingress, even under extreme hydrostatic pressure. This protective barrier effectively shields the concrete from harsh environmental conditions, ensuring long-term durability and structural integrity.
An essential feature of our Crystalline Technology is its ability to self-heal. Crystalline formation occurs wherever moisture is present. Therefore, if cracks develop due to settling or shrinkage, the incoming water activates the crystallization process, leading to the formation of additional crystals that seal and repair the cracks. The SEM technique allows us to observe Supershield’s crystalline formations in action at incredibly high magnifications.
When active leakages occur through cracks in concrete walls, our system self-seals. An examination of a core sample extracted from a crack revealed needle-like crystal growth along the inner walls, effectively stopping the leakage. Supershield's protective properties extend beyond water ingress; it also guards against various chemicals, including chlorides, sulfates, acids, and industrial substances. The SEM images illustrate numerous non-soluble crystalline formations that developed within the concrete treated with Supershield.
